Home Automation comes in different systems and technologies, so which system is right for you?

There are 3 major home automation technologies, namely BUS, Wireless and PLC (power-line carriers). It's simple to choose the correct technology for your home. If you have an existing home and would like to automate it without the hassle of chasing walls and essentially re-wiring your entire electrical system, then Control 4 is the technology for you. If you are building a new home and have the opportunity of choosing technologies, then we ask you a simple question. What do you want the system to do for you? If it is more home entertainment orientated with easy integration to your existing audio -visual systems then Crestron is your product, which is the leading automation range world-wide. If you are more concerned about intelligent security and whole home integration then we would suggest HAI which at this stage is a BUS technology although will be launching PLC in the second quarter of 2008 in the form of UPB.
